I welcome you hacking guys, so now i will tell you how to install Torrentflux-b4rt on your ATV (1.0/1.1). Please if you dunno how to do something your invited to ask me everything you want!
I assume you already installed ssh on your ATV, if not visit this page for more Information about how to install it on your ATV.
Given the nature of php script, TorrentFlux can work not only on Windows but also on other software platforms. This client for file sharing is open source and there is also the Italian language. TorrentFlux must be used legally for download from the network only material is not protected by copyright.Download TorrentFlux 2.4.
The first thing we want to do is to get several commands for our ATV since it has not everything installed already. You can download the ISO of an Patch CD from this page (you may need to register first). When you got it burn it on an CD. the .gz can be extracted by WINRAR.
The next thing we do is to transfer the Applications/Commands to the ATV.
You need the following commands
- nohup
- which
- uptime
- wget (dunno if it is on the cd but you can get it here)
- bunzip2
- du
the commands are located on the cd in the folder “CDROM:usrbin”.
So you now want to upload them to your ATV box, i would suggest you to use WINSCP to upload files to your frontrow home Directory (the first directory you see if you log onto your atv using winscp). So use WINSCP to upload them then move them by typing
so now you moved them to the standard directory for binaries on your ATV but you need to tell the ATV that other users can use them too! to do that you need to set the right for these programms by typing
Will continue the writing tomorrow! Now we need some more programms…
Ahhh yeah lets continue!
So now we need even more programms from the cd we burned before. The Files we need can be found in “CDROM:SystemInstallationPackages_i386”.
We need the following files:
We again copy them to our ATV by using WINSCP. After they are in your home Directory you can unpack them by typing
Now we want to copy our newly unpacked files to their right position in the filesystem, at first we have to tell the ATV to let us copy everywhere we want by typing:
now we copy the extracted files to their right location we copy a directory by typing
How To Install Torrentflux On Windows Vista
now we change something the sshd_config by typing
and add those two lines to it
now we reboot the ATV by typing
now we need to install xampp for this reason please visit this site
after you did that we need to configure something on xampp so type
now we need to edit the httpd.conf by typing
now remove all Alias Mappings (most of the time they are just one line and about 3 lines in the whole config)
also set your Document Root Path to your “~/htdocs”, so your users home directory (yeah you can look up the path with winscp!
now start xampp again by typing
Now we want to install torrentflux-b4rt on the ATV so we first need to download it, you can get it here, get the beta2 and extract it to the ~/htdocs directory.
Now you need the Programm to transmission data you get it here
Extract it and remember the path where you did that.
So now you just need one more step you need to update the config file of torrentflux-b4rt so please type
so you can now start your torrentflux-b4rt the first time! You will have to set a few paths but i guess you know where they are ! If not just comment here and i will answer in some hours!
Good Luck and happy sharing!

TorrentFlux is a free and open source multi-user GUI for BitTornado. Unlike most BitTorrent clients, its main user interface is a web interface. It is scripted in PHP, with a MySQL database and runs on a web server.
Its web interface allows it to be operated on a remote server, which is useful for file services based at an Internet service center.
The most recent beta release also includes support for ADOdb, allowing for use of other database backends. Numerous 'hacks' have been written to add additional functionality.
Status[edit]
The latest release is 2.4 final for Linux, released on June 18, 2008. The latest Windows version is 1.3, released August 15, 2004.
TorrentFlux-b4rt[edit]
In January 2007 a fork called TorrentFlux-b4rt was created by a TorrentFlux forum member with the alias 'b4rt'. TorrentFlux-b4rt incorporates many of the mods created by the community, as well as some new features and display themes, into a single package. An existing TorrentFlux installation can be converted to a TorrentFlux-b4rt installation, preserving all settings and data, by using the scripts included with TorrentFlux-b4rt.The newer versions of TorrentFlux-b4rt are completely rewritten, and no longer based on the original TorrentFlux source code.
Key TorrentFlux-b4rt additions:
- A more advanced queue management system.
- The ability to periodically scan RSS feeds for new transfers to start.
- The ability to change upload/download rates while a transfer is running.
- Transfer statistics logging and bulk operations (start/stop all transfers).
- The ability to use clients besides BitTornado: Transmission and Azureus for torrents, wget for http and ftp downloads, and nzbperl for usenet downloads (using NZB files).
- The ability to use VLC Player to stream across the network.
TorrentFlux NG[edit]
In October 2010, a few TorrentFlux-b4rt enthusiasts created a fork from TorrentFlux-b4rt. The reason for this is that project development for TorrentFlux-b4rt has come to an end, the continuous stream of spam on the forums, a website that had not been updated for years and a lack of permissions and access for others to update the project and the site.
TorrentFlux NG wants to include the following features in its first release:
- DHT
- Encryption of torrent traffic
- Magnet links for adding torrents
- Better memory management (1 process for multiple torrent downloads instead of 1 process per torrent)
- No need to write patches for each new release of Transmission
- New user interface/theme
One of the key targets for future releases was the separation of the front-end from the back-end.
TorrentFlux NG is no longer actively developed.[2]
