Lighter versions of comfort foods. Contains mind numbingly simple ideas that save a lot of calories like thinning out cheese in sauces with a little flour. Most helpful are the wok and slow cooker matrices where you mix and match ingredients.

chock full of recipes, advice and tips on how to eat better. This is great book, and my husband especially enjoyed it, because it meant he could eat the SAME foods, by making the same foods he's already eating healthier and the taste generally doesn't change. We've tried a few of the recipes, and even tweeked some of the recipes (for the better), and have been really happy with the outcome. While it's still much too early to find out whether or not we're going to lose weight, It's a great refere..more

This is an interesting follow up to last years book. What I liked about this, was that it listed specific meals at various restaurants and then gave healthy alternatives you could make at home. Now, I just need to motivate myself to cook at home, rather than stop for something on the way because it's more convienient.
Easy to read. Clear terms. Excellent photos. Great comparisons. Very informative.

Not only did I actually read everything at the beginning, about ratings habits and why certain things are healthier than others, I actually did cook a few things from this. I also went through and jotted down others to make in the future, because apparently I've decided that having an abnormally huge recipe collection is awesome.
I can only remember a few things, one of which was the jambalaya. I'm not a fan of shrimp, but the jambalaya was incredible. Same with the turkey sloppy joe. I was very

I always grab one of the these 'Eat This, Not That' books when I see one at the library. To me, they are like a sweet indulgence. I love to read them. I'm a bit of a food snob. I don't eat processed food, junk food, fast food, and I'm vegan. But I simply love reading about the food that can be found in grocery stores and restaurants today. It amazes me at the amount of calories in a meal at a well known place. I do like reading about subs that you can get at the grocery store. This one includes..more

Better than these books usually are. The recipes are useful and give the book more value than the normal Eat This Not That book. This one is definitely worth checking out to see if there's food you can substitute for your normal everyday comfort food meals.

There's some good information that I could use at the grocery store. And it has some good, simple recipes that I intend to try.

wonderful recipes and great information. I love this series, but this one I actually went out and bought due to the recipes.
About what you'd expect. Pretty pictures, snarky comments. Meh.
